I’m a portrait in the bay area with over 15 years of experience. I started working in weddings and senior photos, then moved on to magazine, editorial and commercial photography when I moved to San Francisco from Green Bay, Wisconsin in 2008. I received a bachelor’s degree in photography and design from AAU in 2013.Every person, man woman or child is different and I like to reflect that in my portraiture. I’ll spend a moment, even a brief moment getting to know them so that the image is truly capturing their unique essence. With children the energy can be so whimsical and energetic that I find myself bouncing around with them, trying to match their excitement.Every session I have aims to show who they really are, so that you and your family will cherish these images for the rest of your lives.

My passion for School Picture Day photography

I was always the photographer in the family, having had a 35mm film camera when I was 9 I took it everywhere. First capturing my action figures in heroic positions on the woodchip pile and then intimate and personal photos of my relatives interacting. There’s always been kids around in my large midwestern family, and I was always the documentarian. As time went on and I gained more skills and access to a full studio I would capture images of my family in ways they never would have known the kid with the camera in the dirt would have been capable of doing.
